I build lists. Building my list is usually my top priority each day. Of course, just building a list does not mean you will make money online, but it is the first step. Once you have a good-sized list, promoting and selling your products is fairly easy. Let me give you a couple of pointers on how to get your lists growing.
1. Use article marketing - how do you get visitors to your website in the first place, you may ask. I could write a whole different article on that subject, but I will give you a hint. My primary method of getting visitors to my website is through article marketing. Through article marketing, I can get my information onto some of the biggest websites in the world for free. Not only that, but when people read my articles, that means they are generally interested in my subject. So at the bottom of each article, I place a little write-up about my website, and that is how I get visitors. Article marketing is in fact one of the quickest and most cost-efficient method of getting visitors.
2. Force the visitor to signup - once I get visitors to my website, I force them to signup with me before they get any more information. I don't promote myself, and I don't promote my products. In fact, I don't even list my products on the webpage they see. Why do I do this? Because I want them to eventually buy something from me, but before they will be interested in me, I have to show them I am interested in them. I do that my offering helpful information through my email newsletters that I send out. Once people see that I am trying to help them, then they are more inclined to listen and buy.
3. Give an incentive for signing up - people today are becoming more and more suspicious of giving away their email address. That is because there is so much junk floating around that we quickly get buried in emails. So it is usually a good idea to offer some type of trade for someone's email address. I offer my latest book that I have written. Other people offer a free product or free trial to their website. If you do offer something as a reward for signing up to your website, you will find that your signup rate will increase dramatically!
